The four characteristics of my animal are: It has 1 or more cells, It responds, It grows, and it reproduces.
Reproduction
The Frilled Shark reproduces by making eggs and the eggs being fertilized so they can make new offspring. Their litter sizes range from 2 to 15 pups.
One or more cells
The Frilled Shark has one or more cells, because it has a complex anatomy. It has gills, a stomach, fins, teeth, eyes, skin, and it has a vertebrae.
Responds
The Frilled Shark responds because if it's food swims by it will react and go after it to eat it. And it has a 6th sense which helps it pick up on small electrical currents to let it know if its food is near.
Growth
It grows because when it hatches it is only 6-8cm big when its at its full length is
1.7 m (5.6 ft) for males and 2.0 m (6.6 ft) for females.
Food
It meets its need for food by eating: squid, smaller sharks, and fish to survive and thrive. Its long jaws and hooked teeth make it able to swallow whole prey up to half its size.
Shelter
The frilled shark lives at around depths of 500 to 1000 meters deep. The Frilled Shark typically lives in the outer Continental Shelf.
Water
The Frilled Shark gets water by using it's gills to filter however much it needs.
Air
The Frilled Shark meets its need for air by using its gills to filter the little bit of oxygen in the water in.
